What is TOPIK ?

TOPIK (Test of Proficiency In Korean) has been developed, aiming to show how to learn and study Korean language for those who want to learn Korean language, 한글 , as a foreigner and for those who have lived in overseas as Korean. TOPIK  has been in a position of a standard evaluation test for people studying and getting a job in Korea. The number of people who want to learn 한글 is increasing consistently and A number of the test center of TOPIK in overseas also are growing fast , 72 countries having 219 areas which run TOPIK test.

TOPIK Learn Korean Language 한글

In this posting, I'd like to share a simple piece of information which shows what TOPIK is. Plz check it out as below

 

Type and Level

TOPIK I is for beginners and TOPIK II is for intermediate or advance. There are 6 levels from level 1 ~ Level 6 from basic to advance which means that the level 6 is the highest one students can achieve.

As you can see the above table, respectively , in order to get level 1, people need to get score 80 and to get level 2 score 140 at least. when you have level 2 of TOPIK, you are able to study at the universities in Korea which provides a Korean language course for foreign students (based on their terms & conditions). with level 1 or 2, you are still in basic but almost in the intermideate level.

Total score you can get in TOPIK Ⅰ is 200,listening 100 and Reading 100. TOPIK Ⅰfor beginners consists of 2 parts, Listening session 40 minutes and Reading session 60 minutes. You are going to have 30 multiple choice questions in Listening and 40 mutiple choice questions in Reading which are quiet easier than you expect.
